Hello and hoşgeldiniz! I’m Leyla - author, storyteller and the voice behind Olive Post. I'm so happy you're here.

This space has been a long time in the making. It’s where I get to bring together all the things I love: stories that carry heritage, snail mail that brings real joy, and the small magic of slowing down in a very fast world.

My first children’s book, Tell Me Dede, was born out of a deep love for family, Cyprus, and the stories that connect us across generations. If you've ever wished you could bottle up a bedtime tale from your grandparents and send it across time - that’s exactly the kind of feeling I tried to capture. You can now find out more about the book (and where to buy it!) right here on the site.

Alongside the book came Olive Post, a snail mail subscription that lands in your letterbox each month - created for Little Olives (ages 4–11) and Wise Olives (ages 12 to adult). It’s filled with stories, activities, and culture-soaked surprises. My hope is that these letters feel like a warm hug - whether you're reading them with a child or enjoying them with a cup of tea on your own.

This blog will be a space for behind-the-scenes updates, creative thoughts, cultural gems, and bits of life in between.
